Beauty

In the dry season of the winter, there is nothing quite like wanting to avoid dealing with the always dreaded chapped lips! Unfortunately, chapped lips are only exacerbated by many of the lip products I use daily, many of which include occlusives, irritants and allergens. To ensure my lips stay nice and hydrated all season long, I’ve made it my mission to find the best home remedies for chapped lips.

Here are four home remedies for chapped lips:

coconut oil

Coconut Oil

Coconut oil is one of the most well known natural moisturizers and helps heal chapped lips caused by cold or dry weather. Simply apply pure coconut oil several times a day on your lips to keep them moist. Who doesn’t love a natural fragrance?!

Shea Butter

The ultimate go-to when you’re on the run because it remains solid at room temperature! It includes a stable fat with excellent moisturizing properties, extracted from the fat of the African shea tree.

rose petals

Rose Petals

This super easy, at home remedy is worth of some love! All you have to do is take rose petals and wash them thoroughly in water. Then, mash them up and soak them into milk for a few hours in the refrigerator. (If you have issues with dairy products, you can soak them in glycerin instead.) Take it out and apply it to your lips for fresh, soothed lips!

Raw Honey & Vaseline

A killer combo! This is a perfect lip repair duo. Apply a layer of honey on your lips. Next, apply a layer of Vaseline on top of this. Leave these on for 10-15 minutes while your lips repair. Use a damp tissue or a damp cloth to wipe it off and feel fresh and clean!

Pro Tip: Buy the Vaseline with color for a pop of pink!
