2019 Beauty Product Launches

Best Beauty Launches of 2019

Last updated on: 2019

While the rest of the world is stocking up on bikinis for summer, beauty lovers have more “full-coverage” things on their mind. This year there were tons of new product launches on our radar that we couldn’t wait to get our hands on. As expected, the trends of the year reflect what brands are going to be dropping. In the beauty industry you can see a trend stem from any realm and watch a product come to life in perfect relevancy. Anything from social activism to celebrity and editorial style can influence the market. Rather than scouring the world wide web to discover what products and trends are going to make a splash this year, just keep reading… because we already did that for you by rounding up the best 2019 beauty launches!

1. Serving All the Shade(s)

By now you’ve heard about Fenty Beauty’s color inclusive line of Pro Filt’r Concealers that come in an astounding 50 shades to compliment the brands 50 shades of longwear foundation. This launch set the (skin) tone for the rest of the year, and superstar Rihanna’s company isn’t the only brand moving toward color inclusivity.

Morphe decided to top that and released a line of 60 “tone-empowering” shades of their first ever matte foundation and 31 shades of concealers. The Fluidity collection also includes the color undertones of each formula to help shoppers find their perfect match.

Perhaps one of the most anticipated launches was Tarte Cosmetics’ Face Tape Foundation. This was not only an especially hot topic because of its sister product Shape Tape, but also because the first launch of Shape Tape foundation was pulled from all shelves due to its lackluster shade range and unpopular formula. The brand’s second try featured 50 shades with five different undertones and a completely different formula, package and dispenser. Needless to say, we left shade exclusivity in 2018.

2.Wet and Ethereal

Okay… we know what you’re thinking. Why on earth would I want my face to look wet? Isn’t makeup supposed to hide my shine? Well, yes and no. We’re not telling you to ditch your favorite matte finishing powder, but embrace the glow and gloss this spring and summer on the cheeks, eyelids and lips. The wet trend made its way down the runway and to celebs like Kylie Jenner.

We’ll start with none other than Chanel. The Baume Essentiel highlighting stick debuted in their 2019 spring and summer collection. This gorgeous product is said to moisturize, illuminate and add a gleam to the cheeks, lips and eyes.

On the other end of the price spectrum, we have N By Neutrogena Glow On Liquid Highlighter. The formula has “light reflecting pearl pigments” to help the skin’s natural radiance, plus it gets you glowin’ on a budget.

NYX Professional Makeup kept on trend when they dropped their Bit of Jelly Illuminator. The K-beauty jelly makeup trend has made its way from bronzer to lips and its water-based gel is for both face & body.

Now, while you may still have to pry our favorite highlighting palettes out of our hands, these jelly formulas provide a dewiness that not all pressed powders can deliver. This year we can definitely expect to see a movement toward glowing makeup that has a more natural and “real skin” feel, and we’re here for it!

3.Health and Beauty Convergence

The trend we’re most excited to see is makeup that is GOOD for our skin. Most girls can relate to the never-ending cycle of discovering makeup then soon facing the consequences of breakouts from cheap formulas and unhygienic application practices (we swear we clean our beauty sponge once a week…)

Well, now we’re stuck in this endless loop of covering up our blemishes with more makeup. Companies are now using cleaner and more nourishing ingredients to help your skin thrive.

Drunk Elephant, one of the leading clean beauty brands, released their A-Passioni Retinol Cream that helps skins resilience and tone. The company prides itself on the “superfood rich” ingredients in their products.

Another heavy hitter that promises their consumers pure ingredients is Tatcha, who launched its Violet-C Brightening Serum and had the beauty community shook. Vitamin C serums are all the rage and this oil-free formula is good for all skin types.

Finally we have the Laura Mercier Flawless Lumière Radiance-Perfecting Foundation. This brand-new formula is packed with vitamin C and is sulfate, SLS and SLES free.

Whether its skin-loving makeup, a dewy glow, tone empowering shades or all of the above, we can expect to see these trends carry out through the rest of the year as new collections launch.
